I have been looking for sodium chlorite for quite some time now. I see it on eBay but it is very expensive. As a bulk industrial commodity, it should be cheap.
I'm looking for about 500g of technical NaClO2 for something like $15, if anyone can manage. I will consider all offers.

I used a laptop power supply to perform electrolysis in saltwater solution. I forget how I set it up but I was making about a pound a day and it was extremely low power but I went so far to make it as efficient as possible distance between anode and cathode, saturation level, too much to list but it should be free minus the electricity bill. Any way I doubt you best that without buying a 5lb bag

Are you sure you aren't thinking of sodium chlorate (NaClO3)? I've never heard of making sodium chlorite via electrolysis, though the use of chlorate cells is widely known.
