My name is Dr. Bob. I am located in North Carolina, and have worked as a chemist for years, but started in science at about age 14, when I started doing chemistry and pyrotechnic experiments at home (they quickly moved outside after a few close calls with fire...) which was helped by finding a local small chemical company where I could buy many chemicals beyond what drug and hardware stores sold. I later worked during high school and college for the same small company that made chemicals when the owner decided that I had not killed myself yet so was a safe worker. He later merged his business with a few others to form a medium sized chemical company, which later closed due to complex problems. (it's a long story)
I have been selling glassware part time for about 5 years now, on Ebay, Amazon, here and a few other sites. I also work at a book business part time, which is related.

Most of the glassware came from an old friend (the small company owner above) who later worked for a now closed chemistry business, but when it closed suddenly, he ended up losing his job and most of his savings, but he ended up with 100's of boxes of books and glassware that he salvaged. he started selling the books and ended up starting an Amazon business selling books. I started helping him with that business and then started helping him sell the glassware. He is now 90 years old, so I do most of the storage and shipping for most items, but he still goes out and buys books occasionally. A good chunk of the original glassware is gone now, but I still have quite a bit left, plus I have since gotten glassware from a few other small businesses that other friends have worked with, as well as a few items that I have bought at various sales.
We also recently bought a large collection of science books from yet another dying company, which I am still sorting through. Some will be listed on Amazon, but many others are lower in value (under $5 on Amazon), so I may give them away or sell them in lots. Topics include toxicology, analytical chemistry, risk management, solvent and chemical safety, and much more.
